Fargo research facility abruptly shuts down, hundreds out of work

The unexpected closure of a biomedical research company in Fargo, N.D. has suddenly left hundreds of PRACS employees looking for a new job.

Forum Communications says PRACS Institute executives surprised workers when they announced that the company was shutting down Wednesday afternoon.

PRACS is one of the area’s biggest employers with more than 300 employees, according to WDAY.

One worker told Valley News Live that the company was declaring bankruptcy.

PRACS Institute also shut down facilities in St. Louis and Toronto.
