Driver killed in SW Minnesota crash, 3-year-old girl survives

The State Patrol has confirmed that the 27-year-old male driver who crashed on Monday evening has died.

He's been identified as Daniel McClellan, of Westbrook, Minnesota.

The 3-year-old girl who was a passenger, identified as Bailey McClellan, was not injured in the crash.

Both McClellans were wearing seatbelts.

A crash in southwest Minnesota involving a man and a young child is fatal, authorities say.

The Minnesota State Patrol says a Cadillac left the road on southbound Highway 59 in Elk Township, north of Worthington in Nobles County.

At around 6:20 p.m., the driver overcorrected after going onto the right shoulder, before crossing the northbound lane, driving into a ditch and hitting a utility pole.

The driver was a 27-year-old man, with a 3-year-old girl a passenger in the vehicle. They are both from Westbrook, in Cottonwood County.

Authorities have not yet confirmed who or how many died in the crash, with more details expected to be released later on Tuesday.
