Father and teenage sons rescued after boat capsizes in central Minn. lake
Three hunters including two teenage boys were rescued from the cold shore of Little Rock Lake after their boat capsized, the WCCO reports. The lake is about 15 miles north of St. Cloud.
The Benton County Sheriff's Office says they received a call from 42-year-old Tamara Caruso of Minneapolis, who said she was unable to reach her husband, Frank Caruso, and two boys.
After several departments responded to search, the Rice Fire Department located Caruso and the boys on the east shore of the lake. On the way back to their cabin, the front of their boat filled with water and capsized. The three, all wearing life jackets, were able to swim back to shore and light a small fire.
The Sheriff tells the St. Cloud Times that they did the right thing by starting a fire and waiting for rescue. The three were unharmed.
