Police are seeking help locating a 2-year-old boy who authorities say was kidnapped from his St. Louis Park home early Sunday morning by his father.

KSTP quotes law enforcement officials, who say Marque Montez Charleston, 33, broke into a house around 1 a.m. and took Marque Montez Charleston Jr. by force. Police say Charleston, who is the boy's non-custodial father, assaulted the child's mother, then fled in a black 2005 Volkswagon Touareg SUV (license plate 110-HUA).

FOX 9 reports that Charleston's vehicle was last spotted in Woodbury near Interstate 94 and Radio Drive. Police believe Charleston is possibly en-route to Florida or New York.

WCCO said that Charleston is described as 5-foot-11, 190 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the St. Louis Park Police Department at 952-292-8274.
