Health officials are urging beach goers not to go into the water at four Duluth beaches that have tested positive for elevated E. coli bacteria. The Northland NewsCenter has the list of contaminated beaches.

Flooding in the Duluth area late last month most likely washed bacteria from sewage systems into water around the area, the Food Poisoning Bulletin reports.

Meanwhile, Washington County officials have closed the Lake Elmo Reserve swimming pond to "super chlorinate" the water, the Stillwater Patch reports. At least two swimmers had confirmed cases of Cryptosporidium after being in the pond.
