Fellowship service set to remember Adrian Peterson's 2-year-old son

Family and friends are set to gather in South Dakota Tuesday night to remember the 2-year-old son of Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, The Associated Press reports.

The fellowship service is scheduled to take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the First Evangelical Free Church in Sioux Falls.

The Argus Leader posted Tyrese Ruffin's obituary on Sunday.

Ruffin died earlier this month after being hospitalized with severe head injuries. The boyfriend of the Ruffin's mother -- Joseph Robert Patterson, 27 -- has been indicted by a grand jury on second-degree murder and manslaughter charges in connection with the boy's death.

The grand jury signed off on the charges Friday after hearing testimony from two detectives and two doctors, USA Today reports. Patterson is scheduled to answer to the charges this week.

Peterson reportedly attended the boy's funeral last week, The AP reports, although Vikings officials would not confirm it.

The reigning NFL MVP admitted last week that he only recently found out he was the father of the boy.
