Fierce winds thrash New Ulm, break windows

It looked more like the wrath of a tornado had struck New Ulm, but it was a frightening burst of strong winds that shattered car windows and snapped poles.

Terrifying winds damaged dozens of vehicles at a south-central Minnesota car dealership, WCCO reports. Winds powerful enough to snap metal poles and heavy rain ripped through Kohls-Weelborg Chevrolet in New Ulm Wednesday.

WCCO has dramatic images of car windows blown out and central air conditioning units easily toppled by the gusts.

The changes will take place throughout next year.
