Dozens of fire crews scrambled to douse a large early-morning apartment fire Friday in Plymouth in the western Twin Cities suburbs.

The blaze was reported at about 4 a.m. at the Vicksburg Village Apartments off Rockford Road and Vicksburg Lane, KARE 11 reported. Officials evacuated one building in the complex, the station reported.

WCCO reported "hundreds" of residents were displaced by the blaze. But officials said there were no serious injuries reported, WCCO said. KSTP at 6 a.m. reported that it was still unclear if everyone made it out safely.

A cause was not immediately identified, but FOX 9 reports a police official said initial reports suggested an exterior air-conditioning unit caught fire. FOX has a slideshow of the blaze.
