If you've headed across the border to pick up some fireworks ahead of the 4th of July weekend, you might want to check which brand you bought.

That's because the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall for TNT Red, White & Blue Smoke fireworks, which are available in four states including Wisconsin.

The fireworks contain three canisters – in red, white and blue – that emit smoke when lit.

The recall was issued because they have the potential to explode unexpectedly after being lit, with the CPSC saying three incidents of burn injuries have been reported.

The product has been sold at Target, Walmart, Kroger, Meijer and Albertson stores in Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio and Vermont for about $5 in May and June this year.

The recalled items have the product code 027736036561

Anyone who has bought a pack shouldn't use it, and instead contact America Promotional Events at 800-243-1189, Monday to Friday, for a full refund.
