Flags at half staff, moment of silence to mark September 11
U.S. and Minnesota flags will fly at half-staff Friday at all state and federal buildings as part of the observance of September 11.
Friday is the 14th anniversary of the terrorist attacks against the United States.
Gov. Mark Dayton proclaimed it "Patriot Day and A Day of Service and Remembrance" across Minnesota. That reflects a national proclamation by President Obama, who also encouraged Americans to observe the day by taking part in community service.
A moment of silence is planned at 7:46 a.m.
