Flags to fly at half-staff in honor of Immortal Four Chaplains Day

Gov. Mark Dayton is ordering all Minnesota flags to be lowered from sunrise to sunset on Friday, February 3. It's in observance of the 69th anniversary of the sinking of the United States Army transport Dorchester off the coast of Greenland.

Governor Dayton ordered state and national flags be flown at half staff Tuesday to honor the memory of Army Sgt. Nicholas Dickhut. He was killed in action in Afghanistan last week. It was Dickhut's second overseas deployment. He'd been awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
