Flu outbreak suspends classes at St. Cloud Catholic school

Author:

More than 50 students at St. Katharine Drexel in St. Cloud are sick with the flu-like symptoms, the St. Cloud Times reports.

Principal Erin Hatlestad said in a letter to parents that many of the sick students had Influenza A. Three new confirmed cases were among the students sent home Tuesday.

"No one remembers this many students absent with similar symptoms," Hatlestad said. "I cannot stress enough to please keep your children home if they show any symptoms of being sick."

Classes have been canceled Thursday and Friday. Students will be on winter break through the first of the year and are expected to return on Jan. 2.
