It's the most popular flight destination from the Twin Cities, and soon passengers will have a new option to fly to Chicago. KSTP reports that Sun Country Airlines will begin direct flights from the Twin Cities to Chicago. The flights will begin taking off July 1.
Travelers can begin booking their flights now to travel between Chicago-Midway and Terminal 2 at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
The Star Tribune reports that the Chicago routes will be part of an effort to expand Sun Country's service to business travelers. Sun Country has been known primarily as an airline for leisure travelers.
The paper said Sun Country's flights — scheduled at the start and the end of the business day — as well as its location in Terminal 2, will appeal to business travelers seeking an alternative to security bottlenecks and complicated parking options at the larger Terminal 1.
