Garrison Keillor's mother dies at 97

The mother of iconic Minnesota author and broadcaster Garrison Keillor has died. Grace Keillor died Friday at her home in Brooklyn Park at age 97, Garrison Keillor said in a news release. The "Prairie Home Companion" star wrote, "Mother had a good, long life" and said his mother "died in the house Dad built in 1947, with her children around her holding her hand and singing hymns."

CEO of Miner's Inc. dies at age 77

Jim Miner Sr., the CEO of Hermantown-based Miner's Inc., died on Sunday. He was 77 years old. His funeral will be held on Thursday at Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary in Duluth.
