Former Olson CEO lands at rival BDM

Publish date:

Former Olson CEO Kevin DiLorenzo has joined the independent advertising agency Barrie D'Rozario Murphy as a partner and president.

The Star Tribune reports DiLorenzo replaces David Murphy who left the agency around a year ago.

To reflect the change the agency has renamed itself Barrie D'Rozario DiLorenzo (BD'D).

The Star Tribune says prior to leaving Olson, DiLorenzo helped it grow into one of the nation's largest independent agencies.

In his new role, DiLorenzo will lead client services and brand strategy for the agency, according to the Minneapolis-St.Paul Business Journal.

The Business Journal says Stuart D'Rozario will become the CEO and chief creative officer and Bob Barrie will be the partner and executive creative director.

D'Rozario told the Star Tribune, "We've been looking for a perfect third partner for about a year now. Kevin's depth of experience along with his strategic and business smarts make him a great asset for all of our clients."

AdAge reports BD'D plans to open offices in both New York and San Francisco early this year.

The agency was founded in 2006 and has 25 employees in Minneapolis. The agency has worked with clients including Best Buy, Dell, UnitedHealth Group, Lands' End and United Airlines.

"Our ambition is to grow," DiLorenzo told the Business Journal. "My hope is that BD'D becomes the agency to watch this year."
