An Edina teenager is dead after walking on a busy freeway and being struck by a semi truck.
The state patrol says 19-year-old Samuel Oden had been walking on the westbound lane of I-494 at Concord in South St. Paul around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The report notes that authorities are not sure why the young man was there in the first place.
KARE 11 says Oden was a hockey player – having played for Shattuck St. Mary's in Faribault, as well as some Canadian junior teams like the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners, Rayside Balfour Canadians, and the Surrey Eagles.
