Update: Young boy killed waiting for school bus

A 7-year-old boy was hit by a car outside of his grandparents home in Wright County Friday morning. The 47-year-old driver was also killed in the crash. His wife told the Star Tribune he was driving home after working his overnight shift. Investigators have yet to determine whether the driver had any medical problems.

The State Patrol reports a vehicle went off road and killed a child who was waiting for the school bus at 8 a.m. Friday morning. The driver was also killed.

Dodge Co. school bus driver charged with DUI

A 40-year-old school bus driver was charged with DUI after "poor driving conduct" was reported to the Dodge County Sheriff's Office, and a deputy smelled alcohol on his breath in the Hayfield area, roughly 90 miles south of the Twin Cities, KTTC reports. He had dropped off children at summer school before the arrest.
