Fund set up for 6 killed in post-Christmas ND crash
A Moorhead man has set up a benefit fund for the families of six Missouri men killed in a Dec. 26 crash on Interstate 94 in Jamestown, N.D., Forum Communications reports.
The six were in a pickup truck that investigators believe spun out of control on an icy road into the path of a semi truck, roughly 100 miles west of Fargo. Three of the men were ejected and investigators believe none of the six were wearing seat belts. The driver of the semi was treated for minor injuries. He was not charged; investigators believe there was nothing he could have done to avoid the crash.
Randy Kremer, a nurse anesthetist at Essentia Health in Fargo, set up the fund to help cover funeral expenses for the families, he told Forum. The bodies of some of the men were being sent back to their home villages in Mexico, he said.
