Funeral for fallen Fargo police officer will be at Scheels Arena

The Fargo Police Department has announced funeral plans for fallen Officer Jason Moszer.

According to the Facebook post, it will be held at Scheels Arena on Feb. 22 at 1 p.m. The arena seats 5,000 to 6,000 people.

The police department says they'll release more information as plans are made.

Moszer responded to a call about a domestic disturbance Wednesday evening. The homeowner opened fire on the officers and Moszer was shot. He died the next day. After a standoff that lasted hours, the suspected shooter was found dead.

The city of Fargo and its police department have started a fund for the family of Jason Moszer. The mayor has said he hopes it will raise $100,000 for the fallen officer's widow and two children.
