Gallup: Minnesota No. 2 state of the future

A Gallup ranking says Utah may be the best U.S. place to live five years from now. But Minnesota is No. 2. The rest of the top five: Colorado, Nebraska and North Dakota. The worst? From the bottom: West Virginia, Mississippi, Kentucky, Arkansas and Nevada.

A new Gallup ranking put the Beehive State (Utah) as the No. 1 state to live in five years from now, but Minnesota is second, USA Today reports.

The rankings are based on 13 forward-looking metrics that consider various economic, workplace, community, and personal choices factors. Among the things Minnesota has going for it in the future: residents find it easiest to locate a safe place to exercise, the survey said.
