General Mills is sexing up yogurt
Can a promiscuous Frenchwoman convince you to get excited about yogurt? General Mills hopes so.
The Minnesota company is marketing its new French yogurt, Oui, with a series of ads featuring a pretty, "very French" brunette named Melanie.
Melanie's the type of gal who does what she wants, like taking the scenic route even though she knows it'll make her late, and making her three boyfriends wait impatiently while she leisurely eats her favorite yogurt.
Yep, she has three lovers – who apparently all are cool with the arrangement because they sit together and watch her slowly lick the spoon. And when you add in the tagline "Say oui to pleasure," it seems like General Mills is really trying to sex up yogurt.
Maybe that's because they need Oui to be a hit – Yoplait's sales have been shrinking enough to drag down the company.
Eight flavors of the thick, creamy yogurt hit shelves last month. It comes in glass jars and costs about $1.50, which Buzzfeed notes is about twice as much as regular Yoplait.
