Google is the latest company to make sure you never have to leave your house.

The company said Tuesday it has expanded Google Express – its next-day and two-day delivery service – to more of Minnesota.

Cities including Minneapolis, St. Paul, Burnsville, Eden Prairie, Osseo, Mankato, Duluth and St. Cloud can take advantage of Google's service, the Pioneer Press reports.

Google Express has been available in Rochester since last fall, the Star Tribune says.

Through the service, customers can order a variety or products – everything from clothes and electronics to toilet paper and groceries – from retailers including Costco, Toys R Us, Whole Foods, Walgreens, Guitar Center, Kohl's, Petsmart and Ulta Beauty, among others.

To order, download the Google Express app or visit the website.

It costs $4.99 per order, unless you're a member – then delivery is free. A membership costs $10 a month or $95 for the year, Google says. And if you sign by Oct. 31, the company is offering a free six-month trial if you use the code "Welcome."

The cost for membership is pretty comparable to an Amazon Prime membership, which launched its Prime Now one-hour delivery service in the Twin Cities last year. The internet retailer recently began offering restaurant and alcohol delivery in the metro area, too.

Google Express faces a stiff market in the Twin Cities from other companies as well. Among them: Instacart, which delivers groceries and other household products from local retailers including Target and Cub Foods; restaurant delivery companies like Postmates, DoorDash and BiteSquad; and a variety of alcohol delivery services.

Google Express doesn't offer alcohol delivery in Minnesota at the moment, and it won't be delivering food from local restaurants, the Pioneer Press says. But the company does have one thing going for it – it's available in areas where other services aren't yet available, the paper notes.
