Two thousand families in need are receiving free Thanksgiving meals this year thanks to Stillwater-based Cub Foods and People Serving People, WCCO reports. The pre-selected families received vouchers Tuesday for a turkey and trimmings to cook at home.

Rainbow Foods is also doing their part by donating 1,500 pumpkin pies to Meals on Wheels, KSTP says. Volunteers will deliver the pies Thanksgiving morning along with a full dinner.

According to the American Farm Bureau Federation, the average cost of a Thanksgiving meal for 10 this year is a little under $50.
