Rollover crash kills husband, wife in Itasca County
A Grand Rapids couple is dead after a single-vehicle crash on Highway 46 northeast of Bemidji just before midnight Saturday night, the Star Tribune reports. The Minnesota State Patrol reports the crash killed the driver, Joy L. Wilson, 54, and her husband, Donald G. Wilson, 56. Neither were wearing their seat belt.

A line of severe thunderstorms brought winds of more than 70 mph through northern Minnesota Monday night. The storms downed trees and power lines in areas including Bemidji and Grand Rapids, knocking out phone and electrical service and stranding campers at Itasca State Park.

Red Lake Band to build major casino, hotel complex
The Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians will officially break ground on a new Seven Clans Casino Hotel and Restaurant in Warroad on Oct. 25. The Bemidji Pioneer reports pre-construction on the 165-acre site is already underway and full construction is expected to begin in March. The new complex will include 600 slot machines, a 100-seat restaurant and a 60-room hotel.
