Duluth was deemed to have the tastiest water in the state after beating out three other finalist cities in a contest Wednesday, the Duluth News Tribune reports.

One judge said Duluth's water won the taste test because it truly had no taste at all. “That’s what I look for," Michael Simpson, one of four judges, told the newspaper. Another judge on Duluth's water: “It’s pure. It’s crisp. It has no odor."

The contest was held as part of the Minnesota chapter of the American Water Works Association's annual conference at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center.

Eight cities were vying for the title this year, including St. Peter, Rochester, Mankato and East Grand Forks. The other three finalists were: International Falls, Moorhead and St. Cloud.

International Falls won last year, and went on to win second in a national contest. International Falls also won a "people's choice" award for best water at the Minnesota State Fair this year, the News Tribune noted.
