Here's a State Fair hack that'll get you free admission every day of the Great Minnesota Get-Together: get a job there.

For the second year in a row, the Minnesota State Fair is having a job fair on Wednesday, June 28 from 4-8 p.m. It's at the Progress Center on the fairgrounds.

When you show up, you'll complete a registration form and meet with a State Fair representative. If your skills and experience match an open position, you'll be interviewed on the spot.

You can bring a resume if you'd like, but it's not required.

The fair is looking to fill more than 600 positions: ticket selling, ticket taking, parking, retail sales, food service, games, sanitation, barn attendants, and more. Shifts are typically 6 to 12 hours long.

You'll be paid $9.50 to $10 per hour, and you get free fair admission every day that you work (obviously, otherwise they'd be, like, charging you to get into your workplace).

Applicants must:

  • Be 16 years of age or older.
  • Be available to work all 12 days of the fair, Aug. 24 to Sept. 4.
  • Go to the job fair or employment center to meet with a State Fair representative.

Make sure you're in line by 7:45 p.m. Wednesday to get into the job fair. You can speed up the process by filling out the registration form online ahead of time.

And if you can't make it to the job fair, there are other ways to apply. Click here for more information.
