A hacker got very rude with UW-Madison's Twitter account

The last thing UW-Madison's social media manager wanted to wake up to.

A Twitter user turned screens blue when he infiltrated the University of Wisconsin-Madison account and made some rather rude posts.

The hacking happened Wednesday morning and saw four unauthorized posts made on the @UWMadison Twitter account.

The first post, which you can see at the bottom of this page (warning – there's pretty bad swearing in two of them) was barely logical but definitely profane.

He went on to post a YouTube link to a music video by the recently jailed rapper XXXTentacion, then followed it up with this tweet (which coming from a university Twitter account is pretty funny).

The University of Wisconsin said it has regained control of the account, after being made aware of "suspicious activity" at around 6:30 a.m. when the posts started appearing.

"Four unauthorized tweets were posted by an unknown user. Twitter support was immediately contacted, the tweets were removed at 9:30 a.m. and the account has been fully restored," the school said.

The U added it will be reviewing its social media account security in the wake of the posts, though it said right now the cause hasn't been identified.

Here's some reaction to the tweets.

And here are the tweets made by the hacker.
