Heads-up: Buses will replace Green and Blue Line light rail trains this weekend


Expecting to catch a ride on the light rail this weekend? Think again.

Metro Transit will be replacing Blue and Green Line trains with buses because of construction and maintenance.

Metro Transit still expects the buses to operate on a similar schedule but said that they might not be as quick as trains.

Starting at 7 p.m. Friday until 3 a.m. Monday, buses will replace Blue Line trains between Franklin Avenue and Target Field stations; and Green Line trains between Stadium Village and Target Field stations.

Buses will be at the following Green Line stations starting at 7 p.m.

  • Stadium Village
  • West Bank
  • East Bank
  • U.S. Bank Stadium
  • Government Plaza
  • Nicollet Mall
  • Warehouse District/Hennepin Avenue
  • Target Field

Buses will be at the following Blue Line stations starting at 7 p.m.

  • Franklin Avenue
  • Cedar-Riverside
  • U.S. Bank Stadium
  • Government Plaza
  • Nicollet Mall
  • Warehouse District/ Hennepin Avenue
  • Target Field
