Minnesotans apparently love their wine on Thanksgiving.
Google released search trends about the upcoming holiday on Monday, And in Minnesota, the top searched food and drink shopping location on Google Maps the day before Thanksgiving is "wine store."
For much of the country, alcohol seems to be the popular thing to buy that Wednesday (see the map above).
What else are we searching for?
Google says some of the other top searches show how Thanksgiving traditions vary across the country, and gives a little peek at what you can expect to see on the table next Thursday.
For Minnesota, that means a roast turkey. That was the most searched turkey cooking style in the state, as well as on much of the East and West coasts. In the central United States, smoked turkey is the way to go.
You can also probably expect to see turkey dressing, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, prime rib and corn casserole. Google says these are the top trending Thanksgiving recipes in the U.S.
And you can't forget dessert.
Apple pie may be the all-American dessert, but not on Thanksgiving. The most searched Thanksgiving pie for much of the United States – including Minnesota – is pumpkin pie. Apple pie is popular in the 13 original colonies. (See map below.)
