Here's the Coors Light commercial that was filmed in Minnesota

Does this pond hockey rink look familiar?

A Minnesota rink made a cameo in a beer commercial during the Frozen Four.

Wayzata's Klapprich Park Field, which is flooded every winter for people to skate on, was the backdrop for a Coors Light commercial titled "Game On." You can watch it below.

Why'd Coors pick Wayzata?

Minnesota location scout Ann Healy Shapiro told GoMN a California production company was looking for a place to shoot a Coors Light commercial earlier this year.

Super Prime in Los Angeles had in mind a pond hockey rink in a small town setting. Initially, the company was planning on shooting in Denver.

But Healy Shapiro went out looking in Minnesota.

"I scouted out real pond hockey areas and also Wayzata’s Klapprich Park rink,” she said. "Klapprich rink was so pretty," she added, noting everyone at Coors also really liked it.

So in January, a 70-person crew went out to film in Wayzata. The ad shows real Minnesota hockey players playing pond hockey.

Minnesota’s made a lot of appearances on the big screen lately. You can read more about those and the film process here.
