Serious injuries in semi-trailer crash near Paynesville

The crash reportedly involves a semi-trailer and a passenger vehicle.

Update 4:45 p.m

The Minnesota State Patrol says the driver and a rear passenger of a Chrysler Town and Country are in a serious condition.

The Chrysler crossed the center line and hit a westbound Freightliner head-on.

Two more passengers in the Chrysler suffered minor injuries.

Update: 1:55 p.m.

KSTP has uploaded video footage from its chopper cameras that show serious damage to the passenger vehicle involved in the crash.

Still no word yet on injuries.

Highway 23 is closed in both directions after a "serious crash" on Wednesday lunchtime.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says the 2-lane highway is closed between Paynesville and Roscoe, around 263rd to 276th Avenues, for the next two hours.

It follows a crash between a semi-trailer and a passenger vehicle.

Sgt. Jesse Grabow, of the Minnesota State Patrol, told Bring Me The News the extent and number of injuries in the incident is unknown at this time.
