Red Cross holds 12-hour blood drive Monday

WCCO reports the American Red Cross is holding a blood drive for 12 hours Monday in Oakdale. Officials say they want to make sure they have enough blood before donors head out of town or get too busy over the holidays.

The campaign runs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Prom Center located at 484 Inwood Avenue North.

There will be entertainment, hourly prizes and free gift-wrapping while donors wait. Participants will also get a Red Cross t-shirt and gift bag.

KARE 11 says walk-ins are welcome.

The American Red Cross website offers appointment scheduling and a few words of encouragement.

"Give something meaningful this holiday season – give blood. Hospitals patients in need will be grateful for your lifesaving gift."
