OccupyMN protesters occupy foreclosed home

The TC Daily Planet is reporting some demonstrators connected to the OccupyMN movement have occupied a foreclosed home in north Minneapolis to keep the residents from being evicted. The protesters say they intend to stay in the home and in tents on the property until U.S. Bank agrees to renegotiate the mortgage. They say they will resist if authorities try to forcefully evict the residents.

3M posts record, but trims yearly profit outlook on currency concerns

3M Co. posted a record third-quarter earnings of $1.65 per share, an increase of 8.6 percent increase from a year earlier, but cut its profit expectations for all of 2012 because of "current economic realities." The Maplewood-based company, which makes everything from office supplies to specialized coatings, expects to earn $6.27 to $6.35 per share for the year, down from $6.35 to $6.50, CNBC reports.

Minnesota goes after motor-home buyers who avoid taxes

State law requires new car owners to pay a 6.5 sales tax regardless of where they buy the vehicle. But the Revenue Department says some Minnesotans are setting up shell corporations in other states avoid paying taxes on pricey purchases like motor homes.
