An 18-year-old senior at Hopkins High School in Minnetonka is facing felony charges after she allegedly convinced a 16-year-old student to prostitute herself.

Hopkins Patch reports Montia Maria Parker of Maple Grove is charged with one count of second-degree sex trafficking and one count of solicitation, inducement and promotion of prostitution.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim, who has a developmental cognitive delay, is a sophomore and was on the school's cheerleading team with Parker.

Investigators said the 16-year-old was talking with friends and fellow cheerleaders about how she could make some money when one of the girls suggested giving men oral sex.

Parker later contacted the girl on Facebook and asked for her phone number. Via text message, Parker asked the victim if she would be willing to perform oral sex on a man for $60.

KSTP reports after the girl replied that she'd be willing, Parker asked the victim to send photos of herself that were "not too nasty but kinda cute," according to the complaint. She also told the girl to "show a little skin" and wear "different outfits."

Police say Parker used the photos to post an ad on, a website commonly used as a front for prostitution.

On March 5, the two left school together and Parker drove the girl to an apartment in Crystal to have oral sex with a man. The complaint states the victim handed over the $60 she had earned to Parker, who deposited into the her bank account. The victim didn't receive any of the money.

The next day, Parker arranged for the victim to leave school by pretending to be the girl's mother and excused her from class. The Star Tribune noted the girls went to a home in Brooklyn Park where the girl was directed to have sex with a man. The girl refused, but said she'd give him oral sex instead.

The man refused and Parker drove the girl back to the high school.

The victim's mother called police after discovering text messages discussing prostitution and learning of her daughter's absence from school.

Parker was permanently removed from the school in March, according to a school district statement. Her next court date is June 12.

Within the last five years, police working at high schools across the state have seen more cases involving teen girls using, but it's unusual to have a case involving a teen prostituting a fellow teen, Minneapolis Lt. Kim Lund, president of the Minnesota Juvenile Officers’ Association, told the Star Tribune.
