A house exploded in Tracy, about 150 miles southwest of the Twin Cities, on Saturday morning, injuring three girls and their mother. All four were hospitalized. The house was fully ablaze when firefighters arrived. Witnesses said the explosion blew the chimney off the roof and glass from the home's front windows shot all the way across the street, the Marshall Independent reports. The cause was not immediately known.

Firefighters rushed to the scene of a home explosion and fire in the west metro Monday afternoon. The incident happened around 4 p.m. The Star Tribune reports that the family who lived in the home was on vacation at the time of the fire. The home is a total loss. A baby boy was born Tuesday to parents who both work for the carnival group Merriam’s Midway Shows, the Austin Daily Herald reports. Dale Merriam, a semi-retired owner of the traveling carnival, said the mother had worked just Monday night until after midnight setting up for the fair. A collection was being taken for the parents.

A woman suffered injuries to her face after a wild turkey hit her car traveling south on I-35 in Freeborn County. The Pioneer Press reports 66-year-old Mary Haukoos of Bricelyn was transported to an Albert Lea hospital with non-life threatening injuries Monday night.

Man shoots self, injured after day-long standoff near Hutchinson

A man is in critical condition after a standoff with police near Hutchinson, Minn., WCCO reports. A woman had barricaded herself in a home on a farm because a man outside the house had fired shots. Police finally escorted her to safety. Police later found the man near the farm, and he shot himself as officials cornered him, WCCO says.
