Bring on the Minnesota winter heat wave.

Temperatures across the state will reach into the 30s this weekend, a nice break after the subzero weather that struck us here in January. If that gets you excited, check out some of the cool outdoor events happening over the next couple days.

Here's a look at the forecasts for each portion of the state.

Northern Minnesota and Wisconsin

Light snow is likely Saturday, with breezy and mild conditions.

Temperatures are going to top out in the lower to middle 30s, but strong northwest winds will make it feel cooler. Snowfall accumulations should be around 1 inch.

The sun reappears Sunday, but afternoon highs drop into the middle 20s.

Central Minnesota and the Twin Cities

Skies will be mainly cloudy Saturday, but temperatures are going to be mild. Look for highs in the middle 30s, with west winds increasing to 15 mph by late afternoon. A few locations could sneak into the upper 30s depending on the amount of sunshine. Temperatures drop to around 30 degrees Sunday, with partly cloudy skies.

Southern Minnesota

Saturday will be an extremely mild day. The forecast is calling for highs in the upper 30s, but it is going to become windy. Expect brisk west/northwest winds by later in the afternoon. This will usher in cooler readings Sunday, likely upper 20s with sunshine.
