Human remains found in NE Minnesota hunting shack

Human remains were discovered on Saturday in the ashes of a burned-out hunting shack in a remote area about six miles southwest of Tower, Minn.

The Duluth News Tribune reported that the owner of the shack in Vermillion Lake Township discovered the destroyed structure and found the human remains in the ashes on Saturday evening.

The identity of the remains and the cause of the fire have not been determined.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office is investigating, along with the St. Louis County Medical Examiner's Officer and the State Fire Marshal's Office.
