Human remains found may be missing Burnsville man

Police say human remains found in a Burnsville park Saturday could be that of a man reported missing a year ago.

Sgt. Rory Bochniak tells FOX 9 that a man walking his dog discovered the skeletal remains in the woods of Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve around 5:30 p.m.

Lorenzo Pacheco Orozco, 61, was reported missing on April 15, 2012 after he walked away from his home near west Burnsville Parkway, less than a mile from the northernmost tip of the 2,400-acre reserve, according to the Patch.

An extensive search by police was unsuccessful.

Bochniak says Orozco had medical issues, including a bad limp that made it difficult to walk, the Pioneer Press reports. Orozco had also been diagnosed with dementia after suffering a brain injury, according to KARE 11. No foul play is suspected.

The remains have not yet been positively identified.
