Ice Castle at MOA taking shape

The ice castle at the Mall of America is finally taking shape thanks to 4 million gallons of water and some legitimately cold weather, the Pioneer Press reports.

The project's director, Ice Castles founder Brent Christensen, describes to the Pioneer Press in a two-minute video how the castle is being built and explains the process of "growing" ice.

The castle, which could soar as high as 50 feet, will feature towers, archways and tunnels, and mall officials hope it will be a draw for the post-Christmas crowd, the Business Journal reports.
