The mystery couple whose proposal at Rice Park in St. Paul was captured on Instagram have been tracked down.

FOX9 has identified the couple by the names of Stephanie and Luke, whose tender moment at the park was spotted by Instagram user joyson around 10 p.m. Thursday.

Stephanie Yarian, 22, is from Colorado but attends the University of Northwestern in St. Paul, while Luke is from Plymouth.

Their identities were uncovered after Stephanie wrote a message to the TV station after the appeal to find the couple went viral on Friday. She wrote:

Hi there!

My name is Stephanie and I have been seeing my picture of my proposal from last night all over! Just wanted to get in contact and let you know that my fiance, Luke, and I got engaged and are sooo excited this moment was captured!

-Stephanie

In her caption, Joyson says she was trying to take a photo of the light display – and inadvertently captured a proposal, and issued an appeal to help track down the couple so she could share her picture with them.

"I’d love the chance to share this with the couple and would appreciate any help!" she wrote.

The Star Tribune had reached out to the photographer, as has Jason DeRusha with WCCO – but Fox appears to have beat them both to it.

By the way, a business called Paparazzi Proposals will capture the moment in candid fashion, like joyson accidentally did – but it'll cost you.
