Snow aftermath leads to chaos on roads, multiple crashes and spinouts reported

I-694 is closed eastbound in Little Canada after a semi jackknifed and multiple cars crashed near I-35E.

MnDOT confirmed at 9:45 a.m. that the eastbound lanes are closed after the semi-trailer incident, also reporting there are "multiple crashes" at the 35E interchange and on I-35E northbound.

I-694 is expected to be closed eastbound for the next hour.

It's among dozens of crashes and spinouts being reported across the Twin Cities metro on Sunday morning, after Saturday brought the second big snowfall in three days.

More than half a foot fell in parts of the metro area, causing roads to be partially covered in snow or ice and making driving conditions difficult.

As of 10 a.m., there are crashes or spinouts reported on I-94, Hwy. 280, I-494, I-35E southbound and I-35W.
