The Associated Press reports that a 45-year-old Iowa man who lost control of his go-cart at an amusement park in the Wisconsin Dells has died.

The accident happened Wednesday evening at Alligator Alley Adventures Go-Kart Track in Lake Delton.

WISC-TV reports the man, who was visiting from DeWitt, Iowa, was going around a corner when he struck bumpers surrounding the track to keep the cars on the track and his go-cart tipped on its side. The man struck his head on a wooden post along the track. Witnesses say there were no other go-carts near him at the time of the crash.

A doctor declared him dead at the scene about 45 minutes after the accident. His name has not been released.

Alligator Alley Adventures tells the television station that the go-cart track is closed but other attractions at the park remain open.
