A house fire in Itasca County Sunday night claimed the life of a young child and left two adults in critical condition, WDIO reports.

Authorities have not released the name of the child since family is still being notified, but one family member said the victim was a 3-year-old boy, WDIO says.

Itasca County Sheriff's officials say a 911 caller reported a fire about 9:25 p.m. on Wendigo Road in Harris Township, which is southeast of Grand Rapids. Several emergency units including two fire departments reportedly responded to the scene.

KSTP says the remains of the victim were recovered after the fire.

WDIO says Glen Michael Campbell, 38, Nichole Anne Juilen, 24, and a second child – a 2-year-old girl – were taken to Grand Itasca Medical Center for smoke inhalation and fire-related injuries.

The girl has reportedly been released from the hospital, but Campbell and Julien are still hospitalized in critical but stable condition.
