It's a boy: Dayton becomes a grandfather

Gov. Mark Dayton became a first-time grandfather Wednesday afternoon, the Star Tribune reports.

Dayton's daughter-in-law, Cory, gave birth to a healthy baby boy at 12:57 p.m. Hugo Benjamin Dayton weighs 7 pounds 10 ounces and is 19 inches long, the 66-year-old governor announced on his Facebook page.

The newspaper says the governor's son, Eric, Cory and baby are doing well.

The Associated Press says Eric Dayton and Cory Oehler were married in January 2012 in San Francisco.

Eric and Dayton's other son, Andrew Dayton, are co-owners of the Bachelor Farmer restaurant and a men's clothing store in Minneapolis.
