How many Minnesotans does it take to run a Cheesecake Factory?
Nearly 300, apparently.
The restaurant chain announced on Wednesday that it's looking to hire "more than 280 passionate staff members" for its newest Minnesota location, which is due to open at Ridgedale in Minnetonka later this year.
That apparently doesn't include management. A news release received by GoMN only mentions positions like cooks, bartenders, cashiers, servers, dishwashers, bussers and hosts.
The California-based company is now inviting jobseekers to apply online at this website.
In their news release, the company was sure to make multiple references to having made Fortune Magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For" list four years in a row.
The business was originally started in 1940s Detroit by Evelyn Overton, whose "Original Cheesecake" was inspired by a recipe in a local newspaper. About thirty years later, the family launched its first "Cheesecake Factory Bakery" in Los Angeles. Since then, it's grown to a national chain of nearly 200 restaurants.
More about the new location
The new Cheesecake Factory is slated to open in Minnetonka's Ridgedale Center this fall, though no official opening date has been given yet.
The restaurant will include an outdoor patio, with the unit located on the upper floor of the mall next to its east entrance.
It'll be only the second location in the entire state; the other one is at the Southdale Center in Edina.
