Joe's Garage closing, new bar to take its place

A popular spot in Loring Park is closing next Saturday.

Rooftop patio-pioneer Joe's Garage made the announcement on their Facebook page Friday.

Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine reports the Butcher & The Boar's Jack Reibel and team are partnering with owner Joe Kaplan to assist in a total overhaul of the space from a full-service restaurant to a casual watering hole.

Reibel hinted at the rebuild in Eater on Thursday and described the new place as "a really cool bar with great food, more of a small plate."
