Kandiyohi County officials are asking for the public's help to find a woman and her 4-year-old son.
The county sheriff's office says Amy Lorraine Winterfeldt, 44, was supposed to make a court-ordered parental exchange in Appleton, Wisconsin, Saturday, but didn't show up with her son, Alex Gomm – he's also known as Johan Winterfeldt, WCCO reports.
Alex was reported missing to Appleton police and there is now a warrant out for Winterfeldt's arrest for deprivation of parental rights, KSTP notes.
Winterfeldt had reportedly become “increasingly paranoid” about returning the child to his father, according to a statement by the sheriff’s office, the West Central Tribune reports.
The sheriff's office believes Winterfeldt could be headed to Utah or Wisconsin with Alex (pictured center), and her two adopted sons, 5-year-old Daniel (left) and 6-year-old Jacob (right). Another son is in protective custody, the newspaper says.
Anyone with information on Winterfeldt's whereabouts is asked to call the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center at 320-235-1260.
