KARE 11 personality joins K-TWIN radio team

K-TWIN 96.3 FM has announced three new on-air personalities: KARE-TV Channel 11 anchor and reporter Rena Sarigianopoulos and local radio veterans Brian "B.T." Turner and Cane Peterson, the Business Journal and KARE 11 report.

Sarigianopoulos and Peterson will join host Eric Perkins, who is also KARE 11's sports director, on K-TWIN's morning show from 5:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. weekdays.

The new lineup begins Jan. 2.

Northern Light Broadcasting-owned K-TWIN 96.3 FM is the new home for Minnesota Twins baseball and is described by its owners as a lifestyle station for the Twin Cities that blends up-tempo, adult hit music, entertaining content and sports and news with a community focus, KARE says.

KARE 11 announces new weekend anchor team

Twin Cities NBC affiliate KARE 11 has hired Blake McCoy to join Rena Sarigianopoulos as weekend news co-anchor beginning Sept. 17. McCoy has been the weekend anchor/reporter at KTNV-TV in Las Vegas. McCoy will also join meteorologist Jerrid Sebesta and Dave Schwartz, who was promoted to the weekend sports reporter/anchor position recently.

Eric Perkins named KARE 11 sports director

KARE 11 weekend mainstay Eric Perkins has been named the station's new sports director, the station announced Thursday. Perkins will join Julie Nelson, Randy Shaver and Belinda Jensen at the anchor desk weeknights at 5, 6 and 10 p.m. Perkins also does sports radio broadcasts for BringMeTheNews.
