KARE 11 reporter gets tackled during live shot

Video of KARE 11's Lee Valsvik getting tackled during a Saturday morning live shot gone awry is getting some national attention.

Yahoo! Sports,MSN and Deadspin had their own takes on the bone-jarring hit that left Valsvik on the floor – but unhurt. She was doing a standup report related to the Vikings game from Union Restaurant in Minneapolis.

KARE 11 announces new weekend anchor team

Twin Cities NBC affiliate KARE 11 has hired Blake McCoy to join Rena Sarigianopoulos as weekend news co-anchor beginning Sept. 17. McCoy has been the weekend anchor/reporter at KTNV-TV in Las Vegas. McCoy will also join meteorologist Jerrid Sebesta and Dave Schwartz, who was promoted to the weekend sports reporter/anchor position recently.

Eric Perkins named KARE 11 sports director

KARE 11 weekend mainstay Eric Perkins has been named the station's new sports director, the station announced Thursday. Perkins will join Julie Nelson, Randy Shaver and Belinda Jensen at the anchor desk weeknights at 5, 6 and 10 p.m. Perkins also does sports radio broadcasts for BringMeTheNews.

Randy Shaver named news co-anchor at KARE 11

Longtime KARE 11 sports anchor Randy Shaver has been named the weeknight news co-anchor of KARE 11 News. Shaver will join co-anchor Julie Nelson at 5, 6 and 10 p.m. beginning July 16. He replaces Mike Pomeranz, who left the station in March to be a TV broadcaster for the San Diego Padres.
