On paper, the idea of a Maroon 5 – Kendrick Lamar collaboration reads for quite possibly the most likable song this decade. With both artists' track-record for pleasing fans, the prospect of "Don't Wanna Know" is a fourth-quarter industry dream. Fortunately for us, it absolutely lives up to the hype.
A catchy earworm making for the perfect post-summer autumn-chill, "Don't Wanna Know" is the most infectious Maroon 5 song in years. While Kendrick's verse is only a scant eight bars, his influence is all over the track. A more minimalist approach, the alternating drums and building harmonies bring together the best of both worlds. While the music video won't be released until Friday, the song is currently available everywhere.
